The M9018A chassis provides the ultimate in flexibility, compatibility, and performance. With 16 PXIe Hybrid slots, it allows the system designer to mix and match the number and location of PXIe and PXI-1 hybrid compatible modules essentially at will. It contains an advanced PCIe switch fabric that operates up to Gen 2 speeds and can be configured for optimal performance with most PXIe controller. The switch fabric is also configurable for peer-to-peer communications and any peripheral slot can communicate with any other peripheral slot without utilizing the system slot PCIe links. Combine the M9018A with the M9021A PCIe Cable Interface and M9048A PCIe Desktop Adaptor to achieve the highest system bandwidth.

The M9018A has an innovative cooling design which allows the chassis to fit into 4U of rack space in most cases. When combined with the latest 1U rack-mounted computer, a powerful system can be built in only 5U of rack space. Additionally, optional “air-inlet” modules can be used to supply more cool air from the front of the chassis.

PXIe-5644 PXI Vector Signal Transceiver

6 GHz, 80 MHz Bandwidth, RF PXI Vector Signal Transceiver—The PXIe‑5644 combines a vector signal generator and vector signal analyzer with FPGA-based real-time signal processing and control into a single device, also known as a VST. Because of this software-designed approach, the PXIe‑5644 features the flexibility of a software defined radio architecture with RF instrument class performance.

M9021A Cable Interface Module

The M9021A is designed for the M9018A chassis and utilizes unique features built into the M9018A. Once installed in the M9018A chassis and connected to an external host computer via a standard PCIe cable, it provides a very high bandwidth serial link between the two. To ensure the best performance, the M9021A should be paired with a Gen 2 x8 Host PC card such as the Keysight M9048A. A x8 PCIe cable tested to operate at Gen 2 speeds such as the Keysight Y1202A should also be used. M9146A RF Multiplexer

The M9146A contains two 1x4 RF switch multiplexers in a single PXI module. It offers 50 Ω inputs with bi-directional switching up to 3 GHz. This module features excellent insertion loss and VSWR for better RF signal integrity as well as outstanding dynamic range for routing RF signals into your measurement equipment. Each path is designed to ensure repeatable RF performance. Connections are made through easy, snap-on SMB connectors.

Software drivers support most common programming environments such as Visual Studio, C, C++, C#, Visual Basic, MATLAB, and LabVIEW. In addition, this module delivers high-performance RF switching with fast, easy installation and configuration via the Keysight Connection Expert and soft front panels.
